Happy Sanskrit Day – शुभ संस्कृत दिवस।
Sanskrit Day, or "Sanskrit Diwas," is an annual celebration dedicated to the ancient and classical language of Sanskrit, considered the mother of many Indian languages. It is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan, usually in August. This day highlights the rich cultural and historical significance of Sanskrit, promoting its preservation and revival through educational programs, seminars, and various cultural activities. Celebrating Sanskrit Day serves as a reminder of the language's profound influence on literature, philosophy, and spiritual heritage across India and the world.
On the occasion on World Sanskrit Day. ReSanskrit celebrates by reciting how Sanskrit is not just a language but a medium to the higher intellect, science, culture, literature, religion and much more to provide us a better way of life.
Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. It is the most ancient language. Historians say that the ancient Aryans transacted in this language, and tradition maintains that it is the language of Gods. The words Geervani Bharati in verse refers to this. The works composed in Sanskrit are all beautiful and many of the religious and literary works of India, like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, Vedas, and Upanishads, are composed in Sanskrit. Many great poets like Kalidasa, Magha, Bhavabhuti, Dandi, etc. all wrote in Sanskrit and enriched our cultural heritage. These books bring out the scope of emotional joy.
संस्कृतं नाम दैवी वागन्वाख्याता महर्षिभिः।
Transliteration:
saṃskṛtaṃ nāma daivī vāganvākhyātā
maharṣibhiḥ।
English translation:
Sanskrit is the language spoken by
the Gods.
Hindi translation:
संस्कृत देवताओं द्वारा बोली जाने
वाली भाषा है।

गेहे गेहे संस्कृतभाषा भवतात् पुनरपि वाणी।
राष्ट्रकुलानां धर्मधराणां ज्ञानवतां
कल्याणी॥
Transliteration:
gehe gehe saṃskṛtabhāṣā bhavatāt
punarapi vāṇī।
rāṣṭrakulānāṃ dharmadharāṇāṃ jñānavatāṃ kalyāṇī॥
English translation:
Let the Sanskrit language be spoken
in every house;
it is gracious to the nation, the scholars, and the bearers of Dharma.
Hindi translation:
घर-घर में संस्कृत भाषा बोली जाए,
यह राष्ट्र, ज्ञानियों तथा धर्म के धारकों के लिये कल्याणकारी है।

भाषासु मुख्या मधुरा दिव्या गीर्वाणभारती।
तत्रापि काव्यं मधुरं तस्मादपि
सुभाषितम्॥
Transliteration:
bhāṣāsu mukhyā madhurā divyā
gīrvāṇabhāratī।
tatrāpi kāvyaṃ madhuraṃ tasmādapi subhāṣitam॥
English translation:
Of all the languages, the God’s
own language- Sanskrit is the mother, divine and most lyrical language.
In Sanskrit, poetry is
more melodious wherein the good sayings hold prime position.
Hindi translation:
सभी भाषाओं में सबसे मुख्य,
मधुर और दिव्य देवभाषा ‘संस्कृत’ है।
उसमें भी काव्य और काव्य में भी सबसे मधुर सुभाषित वचन होते
हैं।
संस्कृतं नाम दैवी वाग् अन्वाख्याता महर्षिभिः॥
