सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयान्न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियम्।
नानृतं ब्रूयादेष धर्मः सनातनः॥
Transliteration:
satyaṃ brūyāt priyaṃ brūyānna brūyāt satyamapriyam।
nānṛtaṃ brūyādeṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ॥
English
Translation:
Speak the truth, but only the truth that others will like. Not the truth that might hurt others.
Don't lie because others like it. These are always the rules of Sanatan Dharma.
Hindi Translation:
सच कहो, लेकिन सिर्फ उस सच को कहो जो दूसरों को अच्छा लगे। ऐसे सच को मत कहो जिससे दूसरों को बुरा लगे।
दूसरों को अच्छा लगता है - कारण से झूठ मत कहो । यह ही सर्वदा सनातन धर्म के नियम हैं।
इमान् तिलान् गुडान् भुङ्क्ष्व प्रेम्णा गुडसमन्वितान्।
