Write for ReSanskrit

ReSanskrit is read by a global audience of students, scholars, curious minds, and Sanskrit lovers from across India and the world. If you have something meaningful to say about Sanskrit, its texts, culture, or the knowledge it carries, we'd love to hear from you.

We welcome articles on any topic within the Sanskrit domain, well-known or lesser-known. Our only requirement is that it be written with care, honesty, and a genuine intent to educate.

What we're looking for

  • Articles written in English or Hindi, in a simple, conversational style
  • Topics across Sanskrit literature, Vedic texts, Indian philosophy, language, culture, history, festivals, or any subject rooted in the Sanskrit tradition
  • Well-researched content with sources and references cited wherever possible
  • Original work, not published elsewhere, not AI-generated, not copied from Wikipedia or other secondary sources
  • Content that is inclusive, sensitive, and non-preachy, presenting facts and perspectives, not pushing agendas

What we don't publish

  • Plagiarised or AI-generated content
  • Pseudoscientific or unverified medical/scientific claims presented as fact
  • Politically motivated, divisive, or discriminatory content
  • Content that glorifies or demeans any person, tradition, or belief system

A few writing guidelines

  • Cite your sources: especially for Sanskrit quotes and mantras. Even a basic reference (text name, chapter) is helpful
  • Sanskrit terms: provide Devanagari or IAST spelling where there's scope for confusion
  • Translations: include English or Hindi translations for all Sanskrit quotes, from credible sources where possible
  • Tone: explanatory, not persuasive. Use disclaiming language for beliefs and interpretations ("it is believed that...", "according to...")
  • No word limit: write as much as needed to do justice to the topic, but keep it tight

Our process

  • All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team
  • We may suggest edits or ask for revisions before publishing
  • Not every submission will be published; that right remains with us
  • We do not offer monetary compensation for published articles
  • We'll get back to you within 3 to 4 weeks of submission
